Reuben Portanier

Reuben Portanier is a former CEO of the Malta Gaming Authority, and a former board trustee of the International Association of Gaming Regulators. Reuben currently is GTG’s Advisory Partner, heading the Gaming, M&A and Capital Markets advisory practices and is responsible for business advisory, licensing, governance (including ESG) and compliance consulting portfolios. Prior to joining GTG, Mr Portanier founded his own gaming and financial services advisory firm, which merged with GTG in 2018. 

Reuben was as an advisor to the Government of Malta on Gaming Policy, whilst he was a member of the European Commission’s Expert Group till end 2013. Reuben also held management consultancy experience with Arthur Andersen, and held C-Level positions in the ICT sector.

Reuben is an internationally recognised expert in the sector, having won awards as an influential person in gaming, whilst he is highly ranked by international agencies for his gaming expertise. Mr Portanier sits on the sport integrity board of the Malta Football Association, was a visiting lecturer on sport integrity with the ISDE University in Barcelona. Mr Portanier is a member of the International Masters of Gaming Law (IMGL).
